Secret 7” takes 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and presses each one 100 times to 7” vinyl. Then, artists are openly invited to create artwork for the 7 tracks. The result is 700 unique records which are exhibited in London before being auctioned.

'This is a Call' by the Foo Fighters is a track that includes many nonsense lyrics. The line that sparked this illustration was ‘fingernails are pretty’, and with Dave Grohl’s many tattoos in mind, the concept of the tattooed hand came together.

The tattoos reference various lyrics in the song, including mentions of Ritalin, Minocin, balloons, a magic marker, a secret and mollusks. The word ‘GOOD' features in most of the song verses.

The illustration also includes a few nods to Grohl’s actual tattoos (the heart and halo), to the band name (‘foo fighter’ was a term for UFOs used by Second World War Allied pilots) and to the fact that Grohl played all the instruments on this track (represented by the plectrum and drumsticks).
